Welcome to the Department of Mechanical Engineering

Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in 2007-08 and Postgraduate course started in 2014. The Department seeks to combine excellence in education with service to the industry. Mechanical engineering is a challenging, rewarding and highly respected profession. Our department upholds this discipline through a steadfast commitment to excellence in teaching, research, innovation and service, fostering the next generation of engineers and advancing technological frontiers.

Mechanical engineers play a crucial role in virtually every industry, including automotive, aerospace, chemical, process, electronics and software. From sports and medical applications to product development, their contributions are substantial. Our department boasts a team of highly qualified and experienced faculty, along with excellent infrastructure and state-of-the-art laboratory facilities. Our objective is not merely to produce professionals who serve their own needs but to cultivate engineers who contribute to society with a strong commitment to human values.

We continuously strive to enhance the quality of education and uphold our position as a leader in engineering and technology. Our faculty members actively engage in professional development by attending training programs, publishing research papers and books. Many are also involved in ongoing research. To stay at the forefront of technical education, our department regularly organizes seminars, conferences and workshops, ensuring that both faculty and students remain updated with the latest advancements in the field. Our department actively organizes and promotes regular activities focused on
indigenous product development, skill enhancement and interdisciplinary collaboration, fostering innovation and holistic learning.

Our department is actively engaged in research across various domains, including composites, electric and hybrid vehicles, solar-thermal engineering, design analysis, advanced welding, robotics and refrigeration & air conditioning. We strongly encourage both undergraduate and postgraduate students to participate in these research initiatives, fostering innovation and hands-on learning. Graduates from our department secure employment in leading mechanical engineering, software industries and government sectors, while many pursue higher studies at prestigious universities worldwide.
