The “Equal Opportunity Cell” (समान संधी केंद्र) is established in VACOE in accordance with guidelines issued by the AICTE, UGC, State Government ,Savitribai Phule Pune University(SPPU) and the District Collector. Its purpose is to assist and counsel students at the Institute in assisting the less privileged students with their individual needs and to help them develop as a whole, as stated in the relevant guidelines that are periodically published by the Central, State, and SPPU.
Objectives of EOC:
- To ensure that the policies and programs for disadvantaged groups are carried out effectively.
- To offer guidance and support on academic, financial, social, and other issues.
- To promote diversity on campus.

Functions of EOC:
- Ensure fairness and equal opportunities for the community and promote social inclusion.
- Increase diversity among students, faculty and staff while eliminating discrimination.
- To facilitate and contribute as Counseling and Guidance center for said students for various matters including Academic, Financial and other.
- Foster a friendly environment for academic interaction and positive relationships among students from diverse backgrounds.
- Educate the academic community about the issues of social exclusion and the aspirations of marginalized communities.
- Assist disadvantaged students or groups in dealing with discrimination-related problems.
- Address grievances from the weaker sections of society and suggest solutions.
- Share information about welfare schemes and government notifications for the socially weaker section.
- Collaborate with the government and other organizations to secure academic and financial resources for disadvantaged students.
- Hold regular meetings to monitor the progress of different programs.
